I have some ideas on o/f 's for a 180 I am building; the corner o/f setup from All-glass aquariums gave me the idea. I plan on drilling 2 bulkheads (one in each corner) about 22" high. The tank will be 24" high. The pvc plumbing will be behind the tank instead of in it. I am going to build baffles similiar to the All-glass ones with openings at about 3", 12", and the top. the baffle height will be roughly 23". I plan on using 1" pvc for the o/f, bringing both sides to a 1 1/4 tee with a ball valve to control flow if its too much prior to reaching the sump. I don't want to outrun my pump (I have not decided which to use yet, maybe a Flotec submersible). I am wondering if my sizes and measurements are adequate, please let me know what I can do to improve this set up. Thanks guys and gals, Tom

You don't need a valve to control the flow to the sump. The overflows will only overflow what is pump into the tank. The rate of flow is the same. If you restrict the flow to the sump, the tank will overflow.

With all due respect,i dont agree with that statement & this is why:
before installing a ballvalve on my drain,I could hear my w/d thats in the basement from my livingroom.
Now with the valve installed I have to see the water flowing into the sump to know its running, its that quiet.
Took alot of time to get it dialed in but now its very quiet
