Howdy folks...My 5 YO vacuum too an extended vacation after so many years of abuse. Now that my house is about 95% woodfloor. I just need a cheap and effective vacuum to clean the stairs. I'm going to walmart in half an hour. Please let me know if you have any suggestion on a good one that I dont have to pay ton of money on.

Vax are great vacuums and not very expensive. good carpet washers too. we had a 2000w beast of a vax that was very heavy but once you used it you could run around the house in white socks and they wouldnt be dirty. it was very large and heavy though.
we have a 1700w vax now, still good but not as awkward.
they do the small cylinders too and i would expect them to be just as good.

Panasonics are actually pretty good for the money. I think I paid $70 for mine and it has done well.

Get a girlfriend.

^:p , can't wait for my son to be old enough to vacuum. If you have hard wood floors why not get one of thse cheap $20-$30 ones I got one 3 years ago for arond 20 bucks works like a champ.
