Hi MFK, I need some suggestions for algae problem specifically green spottings on glass surface and some light brown algae in a heavily planted tank. Currently I have a 4" Peru high back rhom with six exodons in there. I'm wary of putting in a pleco as it may end up doing more harm by eating my plants than anything. Algae eaters will end up getting chopped in half by the rhom.. Are snails my only option or is there anything that eats algae that doesn't eat plants?

Pond snails actually do a real nice job, mine don't even bother the plants. If there isn't a lot of leftover food in there then they won't multiply as fast. When I start seeing a surplus I take them and give them a squish and feed them to the fish.

Don't think much else except snails or inline/in-tank uv, reduce light times, sun exposure, and up ur water changes with tank scrubbing.
