ive got a 15 gal terrarium put together with repti bark, sunlight, heat lamp, heat rock (burried 1/2" under bark), water dish and a cave....if you need a pic ill post one....later.

im lookin for some sort of lizard (mom dont like snakes). i really like the skinks and geckoes....especially the tokey gecko..i think thats the one....and the blue tongue skink, but i think it gets too big...wich is why i have an up grade, well two i have a 60 gal (48" x 12") and a custom tank with an alligator lizard (40" x 20 x24)

any suggestions are appreciated.

i like horned lizards and frogeyed geckos and pictus geckos and crested geckos and fattailed geckos and leaftailed geckos and more and more

Well, it appears you have everything ready for a variety of herps. Are you looking specifically for something tropical (hence the repti-bark)? And is handling a big factor? I know most tokays don't tolerate handling much. Anyway, here's some suggestions:

Tropical/temperate:
Fire skink
Mt Horned dragon
Japulara lizard (dragon agama)
Madagascar spiny (collared) iguana
virtually any gecko would do fine in a 15-gal

Desert:
Berbers (Schnieder's) skink
most African agamas
sand fish (type of skink)

Would need an upgrade:
plated lizard
blue-tongue skink - (one of my favs)
water dragon
uromastyx
beardie
basilisk
collared lizard

I have an african fat-tailed gecko and I am enjoying it a lot, I think that would be a good hardy pet gecko for a 15 gallon,........but I do wish it was slightly more active!

i like the crested and tokey geckos...but im leaning towards a baby bluetongue skink....since i can easily set-up the bigger tank later....just not now...long story.

how much do the bluetongues cost roughly??? if their expensive ill prolly have to wait till christmas to accumilate some extra cash.

Blue-tongues usually retail for around $150-$200. You might find one at a reptile expo for cheaper. I've had them before, and can say they're worth it. Hardy lizards they are.

If you got one and it came time to upgrade, I recommend moving your alligator to the 48x12 and place the skink to the 40x20. It has more floor space, and the alligator lizard is a little more flexible in a narrower tank.

Please post pics of terrarium!

Killer setup! I love the screen front!
