I had one that was about 24" long. he was getting to big for my tank so he is now at a big koi farm in ohio. Very layed back fish. I have two more now one is about 12" long and the other is a baby its about 4" long. Very neat fish though. Mine have been eating shrimp pellets and worms. You'll like them though they really dont bother anything. Good luck with yours you'll like them .

how big's your little guy?
i got mine a few months back one kick ass fish. very peaceful
mine is bout 6-7" i feed mine massivore sinking pellets and sinking algea wafers, shrimp pellets, blood worms, krill, thats pretty much it.
not sure if he eats any of the feeders i put in the tank...
if you don't mind how much did you pay?
mine was $39.99 bout4-5"
