Ok, so I was looking on glass cages, and I saw Low Iron, and I like it, I was going to get acrylic but when I asked them which was clearer they said Acrylic is better for about one month, then its down hill. And that low ion is clear and scratch resistant. I want to know opinions on the two, which is truly better, and maybe a great place to get them from, other than glasscages.

This is their exact email...
Glass cages....

"Acrylic is probably more clear for the first month but it's all downhill from there. Acrylic scratches easily and quickly.

Starphire resists scratching and remains clear. "

So, I am not sure, I want a clear pane...so, thats why I am asking. And also, they are cheaper... I am wondering if the tanks they offer are cel cast or not...

I don't know about the cell cast but low iron glass is my preference over acrylic, the main drawback is that it is something like 4 times as heavy.

The only advantages of acrylic tanks is that there are no seems which means no leaks, and it weighs less than glass.

Starphire...if you can afford is the only way to go IMO. it IS a lot heavier but how often do you plan to be moving tanks around? Besides...compared to the weight of the water...the structure itself is inconcquential.
