need the help of Canadians!

Hey Monsterfishkeepers!
just looking for some information about Canada.

My mums Fiance lives in Canada and has invited me to come stay with him for a few weeks, after googling around i see that i dont need a temporary visiter permit because there is lists of countrs who need and dont need to apply for this. accoding to the internet all i need to do is pass the immigration at the airport.

i hear that i will need a certain amount of money with me to convince the immigration officers that i do not intend to work, how much would i need?

I really want to come and see the country and experience the life but i do not wish to be turned away at the airport by immigration!

anyone who could answer my question about the money and give me any advice would be Very apreciated.

Anytime I travel I never have to worry about presenting my intentions....just say you are on vacation.

You could call the Canadian Embassy in your country. I'm sure they will give you the info you need.

I presume they will want to know where you intend to stay during your visit and that you have enough money to sustain yourself. I don't know of anyone who has gone through this process during our current uppity govt's tenure.

if i am going for 4-6 weeks how many dollar do you think would be suficient to convince the immigration officers.

im not sure if i am blowing it out of proportion but i hear Canada is pretty hard to get into.

I don't think its that difficult. You will have to fill out information on exactly where and who you are staying with.
