so I bought my son a lightly used 180 gal tank for 100$ today I don't get it for a few weeks and I am looking at that as a blessing. I currently have a 3-4 inch RD and a 4 inch red pike and one 4-5 inch bichir in a 55 that I am replacing. what would be a few good tankmates to be researching to help fill this sweet new tank.

Clown Knifefish are cool and exotic looking. Maybe small Florida gar? Both could flourish in a 180 for years. Those are just my thoughts. I personally love Jack Dempsey and Jaguars for the cichlid department...

the pike is prolly a johanna. with the pike getting to about 14" and the RD getting pretty large and mean, i'd get maybe 3-4 more larger cichlids with some rock work and driftwood. i'd consider a jag, green terror, JD, cubans, some cons. the bichir will most likely be left alone
personally, that RD will kill everyone once it mature....imo, convert it into a big african cichlid tank !
