So I currently have an aquarium, albeit only 55 gallons, but I don't have to heat it because the water temperatures will stay around 75 degrees year round.

That may not be a big enough sample size, especially for me, thus why I'm asking the question. If I can keep an aquarium in my home at solid temperatures without a heater, would it be possible to keep about a 1000 gallon pond indoors without heating it?

I don't necessarily plan to begin construction right now. I wan't to make sure I'm in a permanent residence before I begin construction (probably three to four years). So, I'm in no rush and do plan to figure everything out in that time.

Really depends what fish you have in there if you were looking at tropical I would say throw In a small 300WATT heater or 2 to get to about 80F it won't matter how big the pond is cause you don't have any competing temp (like outside) + you will be keeping your home at a steady temp. (Around 75F am guessing?). Now if your going with koi, trout, bass, sturgeon ECT then you won't need a heater (cause they are coldwater fish) and your home temp can very cause it won't effect them much (unless it gets in high 80s) hope this helps good luck.

Oh no I just heat that room. It is completely separate from the rest of the house.

Never had any reptiles before. It would be kinda cool though.

If you are using a submersible pump that will help warm the pond a bit as well, since it is cooled by the water. Mine kept 600g and 150g ponds temperatures a few degrees above the room temperature
