I'll start with the fact that i'm not totally sure how this website works so i apologize if this isn't the right area to post this but i wanted to know if this aquarium setup is still ethical or works. My Grandfather and dad both did this their entire life and i grew up around this and i have 4 large fish tanks now. my grandfathers personal favorite tank he ever had was a 400 gallon with the larger fish and it used to memorize me and iv'e always wanted to recreate it and i did some general research to make sure all these at least can work together individually but don't know if it'd work all together. Like i said my grandfather did this tank setup himself and had this tank setup for years and had little to no issues. the fish he had in the tank was a Oscar, a Flowerhorn, a Arowana, 4 silver dollars, A firemouth cichlid, a parrot cichlid, a pleco, a convict cichlid, a electric blue acara, a jack dempsey, a bichir, and a couple freshwater stingrays all in the 400 gallon tank. my tank will also be a 400 gallon tank possibly more if i can get a good enough deal. I know obvious stuff like to watch out for size and make sure no fish is big or small enough to eat or be eaten and to put the arowana long after the tank is settled when he is fully grown and wont be bothered for his size. he always played with the amount of each fish so if possible a general rundown on how much of each fish would be possible. ive never been good at typing online sorry for the longwinded run on sentences. also i'd like to know if there is more room in the tank because if so adding fish would be in my interest, although if its a good amount of fish or too much i obviously wouldn't

Seen mixed tanks like these and can work. Especially with large tanks, lots of hiding spots and clean water. The fire mouth and acara I’d for sure leave out as they can be a snack for a arowana.

Would you say that is a good amount of fish/too much/ or I have some room to add a couple

Depends on the footprint. Wouldn’t add anymore fish. Need to get the filtration right.
