Need to make a cover, need some suggestions and help

I need to make a cover for me mini pond/aquarium to reduce temperature lose and water evaporation once I install heater.
Anyone know where I can get 1/2" thick acrylic sheet with custom shape at a good price?
Got a quote from a vendor and it turns out to be about $320 that's more expensive than the tank.

Here are the drawings for the 2 section cover. If someone has better idea or other suggestion, please post.

I don't know any glass or acrylic businesses in and around NJ, but it shouldn't be that expensive to cut a custom piece of glass or acrylic.

I did check out McMaster Carr. for the size I need (48x48x0.25") plus shipping will cost me $210. I found someone that can make it for me for $240. most likely that's what I'll end up doing.
