Well I'm ready to purchase my first Asian Aro and I'm just waiting for my LFS to get their stock in. But now I need to make room in my 225g for it because I'm a bit overstocked. Currently have 23 fish in my tank. I was thinking of trading in some fish but dunno which to get rid of because I like them all...my candidates are

12" Mpimibwe Frontosa
7" male GT
5" female GT
13" Redtail Giant Gourami
12" Ornate birchir
10" Endli birchir

I do like the birchirs but I have too many bottom dwellers, the breeding pair of GT's I gave up on them. For the Frontosa and the RTGG I would like to try and keep but my question is how do RTGG's and RTG Asian Aro co-exist? What would u get rid of?

3rd 12" Mpimibwe Frontosa
1st 7" male GT
1st 5" female GT
2nd 13" Redtail Giant Gourami
4th 12" Ornate birchir
10" Endli birchir

This is my order of downstocking, but Im not into Cichlids that much (probly why its that order)

Cant wait to see pics of the new AA:naughty:

GT gotta go, they are easy to come by, i have seen a # of tanks with rtg and grtg coexist just fine. just my 2 c.

Ya that's what I was thinking too. GT's are common.

My rating would be about the same but I would rate the Frontosa and RTGG equally. I use to think GG's were ug until I saw a RTGG.

Just look at the beautiful color on this one:naughty: He's not in my 450 nomore due to my Pacu beating the crap out of him. He's slowly healing in my 225 now.

Such a hard decision to downstock when u like them all...:(

I say get rid if the Pacu first. They are elephants when it comes to feeding

I would get rid of the pacu

Too many fish to get rid of. Save yourself the headache and get a new tank. RTG deserves it's own space.

Crazyfish88, I like your 450.

Thanks bro. Here's what my 450g looks like now. Added 2 pieces of driftwood:)

Anyhow I was thinking of getting rid of my 38 gallon and upgrade my growout tank to a 90 gallon. I can't get anything bigger as I don't have space for another monster tank at the moment. Might growout the Asian Aro in it first depending on how small of a size it is and then when it's ready place it in my 225.

get rid of everything in the list you posted, other then the bichirs..
the less fish, the better your chances are of having a perfect arowana with no missing scales and torn fins.
TRUST me, i speak with a lot of lessons under my belt
