Physical condition of the fish:
- pale w/ loss of color near the base of the tail
- no signs of physical trauma
- paralyzed but with movement in gills, pectoral fins, and tail only
- no attempts to feed
Water conditions:
temp 82 F
pH 7.1
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
I came home the other day to find one of my clown loaches stuck to the intake of my filter. Figuring that it was dead, I was about to throw it out when I noticed that it started to twitch. I have since placed it in a hospital tank but it appears to be partially paralyzed with movement in the gills, pectoral fins, and tail. I tried looking all over this site and others for a diagnosis but I've hit a dead end. A couple of other keepers on this site had similar problems but all ended poorly for the fish.
All the other fish are fine but the loach continues to breathe hard and attempt to "swim." Any advice is much appreciated.
