NEED URGENT HELP WITH CANISTER FILTER!

hi all , i just bought a resun , second hand from a brother. but the moment i turned it on , it spurted water from the sides ,until my whole room was filled with water. its fine now , had to put it to full blast on both in / outlets and i cant lessen any of them because if i do , water will start spurting out again. i need help urgently somebody please tell me what to do!!
 
Sorry not familiar with your brand canister filter.

Your Xp3 blasts water from the sides when you turn it on:screwy:but you fixed this by putting less water in it, sorry but this really makes no sense at all.

I agree, the canisters should be filled completely and unlike a sump you cant control how much water is in them. If water is leaking from where the top and bucket (or what ever you call it) meet it sounds like either the o-ring\seal is missing or damaged and should be replaced.

that is for any and all canister makes and models...

all canisters are 98% full at all times,you can prove this buy unplugging them, and you will see the water equalizes in the tubes. I have a fluval 403 that leaks from the side, when the oring isn't sealed correctly.
 
hmm...true also bro! try n chage the seal! it might help!
