Hello all,

I know my snakes like the back of my hand but I am new to lizards so to speak. I had a few monitors back in the day but nothing else.

Ok to get to the point The boy wants a lizard which means I will be taking care of it. :)

So here are my questions:

1. I was offered this type of uromastyx for free so price is right. Does any one know what kind it is and how big it grows...
2. uromastyx are vegetarians with just a little insect right. (don't worry I will read up like crazy and make the boy read too. this is just general stuff)
3 can you put more then one together and can you put different types together. and should it be female female or male female or male male
4 Are they relaxed like bearded dragons...

Bearded Dragons,

1. they are omnivores, veggies and insects, but I read they could eat pinkies which is so much better I can keep them frozen and thaw and feed, is this true.

2. can i keep one bearded dragon with one uromastyx...

3. How big do dragons get?

which one do you suggest?

Thanks all

That looks like a female mali, it will stay that color if it is just a young male it will develop a black head and legs with a yellow or yellow green back, Great lizard.

Nice, so to recap nigerian, female mali or male mali...we need to narrow it down...
any more. I think it is about 1 year old and about 6 inches hard to say lady said the size of a hand...

Dragons get 18" long and no you CANOT mix species together.

its a mali they grow like 8 to 12 in. feed mostly veg musterd greens, collard greens ect.. live a long time like 40 yrs great pets. need it hot like 90 or they will get gut rot and die. you can feed the bird seed but no sun flower seeds. you can keep malis together but not with beard dragons i forgot what the bactira is called but it is there scat and will kill one and other. it takes awhile for them to mature. there is no need for you to keep water in there tank if you feed then fresh veg on the reg they will get there water from that. i have been keeping them for years. keep it on news paper when they are young so they dont eat sand and it would impact the gut. im sure i forgot a lot but they do make great pets and are very freindly.
