Hey guys, I've been trying to track down a Cortez Stingray for months now and have had no luck.
There's no lfs within 100 miles of me that can get rays in, and I can't find them online.

Could anyone help out?

Either a Cortez or a California is what I'm aiming for. But if there's another reasonably priced small tropical ray out there, I'm willing to check it out and do extra research

California Round Rays are common, true Cortez not so common. There is a place called FreshMarine.com (i think) in California that will ship. Theres also divertom.com in Florida Keys that has the Yellow Rays at 36.00 plus shipping, if your not far from a major airport have it shipped that way and it can be there within 12 hours.

If you want to go the yellow route, I know a few collectors down here that I get them from. Now is starting to get into pupping season, so in a few months you'll have a few sizes to chose from.

I'm currently talking to Salt&Seahorses in FL, but I'm not a big fan of the $70 shipping cost.
Do you know of any other places were I could get the whole package for under $100-120?

I'm aiming for a ray that's around 5-8"

Charles, the only way your going to get a $30 shipping charge to your door is through a company like live aquaria or the like. Any of the Divers, including Diver Tom Charge you what the shipping actually costs.

California Round rays cost a little more for someone selling them from Florida or any state other then California because of the freight charges that it takes to get it to Florida and then Re Sell it.

I'm aware. But I'm also located over 50 miles from a major airport, where is have to pick up the ray after spending $70-100 on shipping. All together, I just don't like the sound of it. All that trouble and cost is more than the ray itself is actually worth.

So, I'm trying to see if I can get The Fish Gallery in the downtown Houston area to get one for me. They said they could have a Cortez or Yellow in within a couple weeks for me. Unless I find somewhere online first for a better deal
