Hi guys I'm picking up a 55 gallon on Sunday but its a really weird size 100 x 40 x 55 cm. Just wondering if you have any ideas of what I can stock it with.

Are there any SA/CA that I can put in a tank as a wet pet with these dimensions?

Archocentrus Centrarchus if you can find them. They get around 8-9 inch but get sort of bulky which is a good thing in your situation since your tank is relatively tall.

I don't know for sure about a Jack Dempsey, most don't get past 9 inch but some get bigger then that.

Are you looking to have a species only?

+1 for Ebjd.. You could do a grammode.. pair of t-bars, salvinis, keyholes, convicts, rainbows..

Not into Jack Dempseys at all. I have had a male and female both around 7.5"

I have a 6.5" male grammode in my 110, which hides alot so I may move him to see if he becomes more lively.

Salvini would be decent. I lost my big female when I moved which was gutting.

Archocentrus Centrarchus seem interesting but would def have to be an online buy.

Not sure if I want one species. I have been thinking about this for a while and just cant make up my mind. Any more suggestions?

Yea Centrarchus is quite rare.
Community of dwarf cichlids is another option.
And if it doens't have to be cichlids, maybe a smaller type of snakehead, Pulchra for example.

Yeah I have also thought about a small snakehead....I think what I'll do is just go to my LFS and impulse buy. will prob end up coming out with some jewel cichlids or rainbows.

Yea before you do anything with it you should try the grammode in there. I was just saying in another thread how I moved mine to a smaller tank and how he has been completely different. I have also heard other people talk about this. You may have good results like me and end up much happier with your grammode :) then yoy could even swap in another fish in the 110... what is in that tank?

The 110 currently has a foot long oscar, 6.5" male grammode, 5" female dovii, 7" senegal birchir, 5" rusty plec and 6" cat (some type of synodontis) Not much aggression tbh. Lots of filtration and 50 to 75% WC per week
