I recently adopted a South American Needle Nose "Gar" and I know its not a true Gar. It came with a Lima Shovel Nose cat both fish came from a 30gal and where a little beat up when I got them. I moved them to my 110gal with a large Oscar, Jack Dempsey and some semi agressive and peacefull fish. Well the Gar just hangs out at the top acts very nervus and rushes to the other side of the tank when the Oscar comes near him and slams his nose into the side of the tank and is starting to damage it. I want to know if this will cause permenent damage and how can I calm him down I have already added stress coat and Melefix for the injury. The catfish has adapted well.
