How big will a needle nose gar get in a 75 gallon tank. I have seen them at my LFS that was about the size of a #2 pencil. Will they get any bigger than that?

if its the gar im thinking about yes it will grow bigger than the sizwe of a pencil and you will have to by a larger tank if you decide to keep it

I have two, and I've had them a really long time, so I will tell you they grow really slow. As far as max goes, I'm not sure, but I've been told around a foot. However, if he is a true gar, (wich most people say they're not) I would believe that he gets much bigger than that. I will also say that they pretty much leave all there tankmates alone, unless they get real hungry, then they'll try and eat someone even bigger than they are.
i just got 2 today, they are pretty cool. i needed a top-water fish for my community. all the fish in this particular community are big so dont worry...lol
