Is this a bad idea? Is this gar too small to be housed with my larger aro?
I have a small aro I could put him with but I was afraid he would eat my ghost knife...it a small one?

Would these too be more compatible? They are about the same size in length, the Aro may have an inch on him.
My ghost knife is only slightly longer than the angels are. He hides all the time so I'm thinking the gar would not eat him.....
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The big Aro will probably be aggressive towards the needle nose, especially if needle nose trys to occupy upper level of the aquarium.

Aro will likely beat it up. The gar is too easily stressed and bullied. In ur pics the aro don't look to small. Would keep in a separate tank of able and with ur ghost knife as this would be a better tankmate. The aro will get big fast and use it as a toothpick.

I put him in with the smaller aro last night, they are very close to the same length.
No issues even with feeding minnows to the Aro . The gar just hangs out up top and if the Aro gets too close 2 in or so, he turns and they both go their separate ways. Not a single nip or aggressive atmosphere as of yet. I'll be watch in them closely. ..
Thanks for the tips all!
