after veiwing all of your beautiful poly tanks, i diecded to stary away from my flowerhorn hoby and start a poly tank... so i took the 12 inch poly out of my males fh tank and put him in a bare bottom 75g witha 5 inch long fin poly and a 1 3inch flowerhorn fry.one week later, which is today i went out and brought a 11 inch poly from the lfs that was only in a 10g tank with 3 others of the same size.. so im like what nice fish they are together.. well as soon as realeased from the bag the 11incher and the 12incher are going after each other back fins and strinking the tail region.. and chasing eachother... in the 3 years of owning the one i have never even seen it move this much.. soo seeing as im new to mutiple polys in a 75g are they killing each other? som starnge mating? or fighting for dominace? soo weird, i thought they were so peaceful to each other do i need to seperate?? pleae help asap

Do you have any places where they can hide? If they are going at it constantly then i would suggest you separate them before you lose one.

fighting for domination and territory.Seperation is probably best. Then rearrange the tank and re introduce-Anne

What species are involved?

the two big ones are sengals and the small one is a long fin.. thanks for your replies!!! i added two caves and ones hiding, but at least they arn't pickin fights anymore. im not really a bare tank kind of person anyways, i just read gravel was bad because of possible blockage if swallowed, so i guess ill add sand and some plants and just keep a close eye.. man was i worried for a second bc i have only head stories of how peaceful they are, not how mean they are to each other. ill post picks up once i get sand.

Are senegals more aggressive than others? A friend has had trouble with his, it completely destroyed the tail of his delhezi (which was only about half the size), then when moved from that tank took on a much larger fire eel who is also now missing some large chunks from the tail.
It got put in its place when he introduced it [10"] to his 16" ornate, and is now in solitary confinement.

''Are senegals more aggressive than others?''
Not really it really depends on the individuals involved. Some will establish their territory and defend it from others as I believe this case is.Some will happily coexist with no problems. Then ya have the special''I hate everyone and everything" problem fish.
Sometimes their behavior will change as they mature getting more territorial
and agressive-Anne
