towards the dithers yes- towards each other no. they are rough on each other, constantly swimming side by side and nipping at each other. their mouths are raw from the constant nipping but nothing ever serious. Now as of a week ago i had 6 black nose dace in the tank as dithers( they are native shiner like fish i catch in the creek). today I have 1. They seem to have a pretty strong bond so far. They are much more interactive and outgoing than I would have thought.
Congrats on the spawn. I had a Dogofwar's pair when he has his house fire last year, and they spawned a couple of times for me. The eggs appeared to me larger than most CA eggs that I have seen and they had relatively small clutches of eggs, maybe 30-40. Good luck with them. They are tough little buggers.
yes much larger eggs with a small clutch, definitely not more than 100 in the pot. she laid eggs a few weeks ago and it was only about 20 or so eggs which she ate.
