Anyone have work with this cichlid? Whats your experencies on them?

I have had one several years ago in a 75 gallon tank with festae, Green Terror and convicts. It was very aggressive, I had to eventually tank him out of the tank to keep him from nipping the fins of the other cichlid of whom was larger than him. This is my experience with the neet. I have a 300 gallon tank know with small cichlids in the tank and would like to add a neet, but I am afraid that it might not work.

Super aggressive when breeding, had a pair that took over 3/4 of the 90g I had them in with a 10" male Midas. It's pretty cool how their breeding colors are total opposite of the normal colors when breeding.

Are you thinking about getting some locally?

Oh was about to say a few stores here in the cities still have the ones I bred a few years back:D

Either they keep breeding madly or nobody's buying them lol. They looks very interesting and I heard they make good starter cichlid for breeding. Either this species or just old convicts..

Around here New World cichlids just don't sell too well.

Didn't have any problem getting my pair to breed, same conditions/setup as convicts will do. Only thing is these guys are about twice as aggressive as Convicts so you might have a hard time keeping other fishes with them when breeding.

*edit added a few more lines:D

Yeah I know what you mean. Anyways I want try these guys out if i can get hands on them.

Can they hybridizing with other cichlid species such as EBJD, blood parrot and convicts? Because i dont want to have my first time to breed the cichlid and get hybrid fry instead of pure neetroplus fry
