So I came home from physics today to see my Neolamprologus caudopunctatus shell swarming with babies and the parents guarding them!

So now what do I do? Do I leave them in the tank for an almost certain death, or do I take them out and if I take them out how do I filter the tank they'd be in without hurting them? What do they eat? How can I get them out of the tank without hurting them?

Pics soon :D.

There's some baby fronts, two syno petricola, some cyprichromis, 3xneo. pulcher, and two juli. dickfeldi

You can take them out of the tank with a net just be careful. You may lose some doing that but it's about the only way. You would need an air pump and sponge filter to filter the tank. That won't hurt them. Feed hikari first bites or NLS grow. I use both.

The tank is a 75 gallon and they're in a fairly good spot, I'm just worried about them getting picked off at night. Do they retreat to their shell?

The parents should protect them pretty good, I'll just be worried at night. The petrioclas can try to snipe some fry. How big are they?

survival of the fittest I guess. let nature do its thing.

I'm a big fan of this, I think that's what I'll let happen. Do I need to feed them anything special or will the algae on the ground be enough food? All of the fish in my tank are under 3.5 inches so there's not a whole lot of threat.
