Males are quite a bit larger than females. They are quite hardy fish when kept in hard water w/a ph above 8. It should be quite easy to sex them this way.Shells are a must! I use escargot shells for my females and muffin shells for my males. They don't need a large tank, I would reccomend a ten gallon, though i have a buddy that bred them in a two and a half g. A quality food like omega 1 will do fine for a staple, but other frozen/live foods are also eagerly accepted. Not sure what they go for by you but post a wanted ad in the classifieds on mfk and someone surely will help you get started.
