Hello everyone, Cardinal Tetras are quite expensive and wondering if I should take my chances with Neon Tetras. Also the closest fish store that sells Cardinal Tetras is around 1 hour away from my house. Are Neon Tetras that bad?

Neons are basically the small, half assed version of Cardinal Tetras.
Neon disease can be avoidable if you know the signs. If one starts to look off, separate it out before it dies, as it is only spread by eating the carcass.

If the Cardinal Tetra are wc they will be more difficult than the Neon Tetra ime.
Make sure you have soft water.... more neon deaths due to disease etc occur with hard water
