Neoprene Rubber Sheet

I have just bought some neoprene rubber sheet that I want to use to make a gasket to help seal my bulkheads when I fit them into my plywood tank.
Has anybody used this material fo this purpose and what results did you get??

I have cut my own DIY gaskets for use with DIY bulkheads...
Worked just like I needed them to...
There are alot of varieties of Neoprene, do you have a close-up image of what you're speaking about?

hmmm I've always used neoprene as an insulator not a gasket. the right type would work though.

neoprene works great on my diy chiller on keeping the moisture from escaping and ruining the circuits.

Yup,
Armaflex is a brand of a "closed cell" neoprene,
I've used it on subzero coolers, to insulate against condensation.


As far as a gasket application,
As long as you don't try to spin the bulkhead on the neoprene, it works fine.

I haven't got the neoprene yet, I ordered it online from the States and I am away from home working at the moment. I'll post a link to the site where I bought it from later.

looks and sounds like it should work great.. keep us posted when it finally shows up..
i use something close to this for work and it works alright.. but then again my work is nothing like using it on a tank so that analogy is pretty worthless..
