net piece on stinger

I went to move my sting rays to a 250 gal. tank . I did not see a small hole in net. one of them got the stinger caught in the net. I got it cut out. it is just on the barb. what should I do? will the stinger just fell off? should I try something? please any input will help...thanks,

Leave it there and just wait for the barb to be shed. Not worth stressing the ray trying to remove it.

Also get a rubber net.
