netgear wirless router help

long story short-
we moved and got a new modem from comcast
my comp still recognizes the netgear router, but internet is not streaming from router to comp.

not shure if i need to reconfigure router or how to do that, or if modem is screwy. modem works fine when connected via cord to comp.

help, ive been using others wireless signals but its very sporadic and frustrating!

Do you know if your using a static or dynamic ip address? you may need to reset up the router becuase your isp's use different settings. can you connect the pc directly to the modem(bypass the router) and get internet?

1. static i think?
2. same provider as before though, comcast.
3. yes im using the ethernet cable to modem now, just to make shure.


i cant login to change my routers settings, if i could figure that out i think i could do it.

Routers are funny like that - if worse comes to worse in the future look for a small pin hole and stick a paper clip in it for a few seconds until all of the lights flash. Resets the memory so you can access your router at http://192.168.0.1 and mess around with things.

I've heard bad things about NetGear left and right. I stick with D Link because they're cheap and reliable

although i didnt reset it, i did reconfigure it. well it reconfigured itself from the setup website.

atleast i think thats what happened, im horrible with comps. only thing im good at is finding free porn.
