I had some more pups born. trying to figure out their sex but tails keep getting stuck in nets. Any suggestions for nets or a better alternative than nets?

I don't do stingrays but do you have a clear glass shallow baking pan you can scoop them into? You may need to scoop them up into a bucket first and then transfer them over to the clear container.

IF you're keeping rays you should also be keeping rubber nets.

There's an old wives tale that pups should never be exposed to air. I use a rubber net to wrangle and bring close to surface, then its a tupperware from net to wherever......

Barbs of ANY size can't get stuck in nets if they're made out of rubber.

You're lucky.... Sounds like you have the hard part figured out, most struggle with the breeding, not how to keep barbs from getting stuck in nets.....

Sorry i meant for pups. I dont lift my adults. just the pups lol

i took and old cheap net, cut it out and used the metal frame to stretch around a tupperware container. Drilled holes in the container and bam… a pup safe plastic tub/net ?. Like DB said its best not to expose to air so just a few holes in the tupperware net keeps em wet even if u lift out of the water into ur “pup bin”… Ill get ya a pic after work.

I used to use a plastic shoe box, A little bigger than the one in the above picture. Would guide my ray pups into it and quickly slide the cover on, all under water.
