is there something that we can buy at the store to netralize the toxins in fish poop?
 
Yeah. It comes in a huge box labeled "Water Changes". Be sure to ask an employee, they often keep it in the back.
 
That would be an ammonia reducer. There are definatly products for this. Called zoelite or something.
Carbon helps reduce nitrate i believe and their are other products on the market that do this but im not sure how well they work.
Moss balls are actually great for reducing nitrates, but either way water changes are still need to replenish the nutrients in the water the fishes need.
 
Nothing still replaces water changes IMO.
