well just got back from a 2 week vacation in maine, while away i took specific precautions to keep my fish healthly. i had wrote down exact feeding and maintaence requirerments on paper and given it to a few people i trusted could do the job. i just walked in my fish room, and i found all but 4 of my fish dead, and the rest almost certaintly dieing, in those dead included 4 azul pbass who i was planning to sell to a vendor when i got back, for a very large sum of money. i'm ticked as hell.

Damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear. The only time I've needed someone to watch our fish, the wife and I enlisted the help of our 75 year old neighbor. I left baggies of food near each tank, labeled with the day and time to feed them. Came back to what we left.

sorry for your lost.....iam going away soon and now iam having douts on what i should do....iam leaving most of my fish feeding blocks and iam taking my fry to my uncles, hope it will be ok......what did they do wrong anyway to kill your fish?

There are less than a dozen people I would have care for my fish, and only one lives in my state.

sorry about your lost. because of this hobby, it is hard to go out of town without worrying about your fishes. hope you bounce back quick.

it's not easy for me to bounce back from 4k+ in fish losses, but yeah i'll try.

i came in the room, 60% the filters somehow were magically turned off. the water levels varied from 40-75% full, dead fish everywhere. and the ones that didn't die almost did from all the ammonia and crap from the others. i lost. 4 14"+ azul, 4 14"+ tems, an umbee, jaguars, mota's, loaches, and a couple others, i currently have about 5 alive. not a good day at all. i just got off the phone with the main "helper" of mine and he told me he completely forgot about my fish, and came in about 3 days, and never again.

that sucks. i have my mom care for my fish. she has kept fish longer then me!:nilly: or my neighbors they used to keep salt, i got one of my tanks from them. :D

Sorry about the loss. But if you were gone for two weeks and never once checked in with your helper you are partially responsible too.

When I am away, I always called in to see how's everything.

i was accually hikeing and camping in 40 miles of 0 bar wilderness, for 14 days, so that would have been impossible;)
