Well I've never kept dats, and know very little about them. Whats a nice datnoid that keeps a reasonable size? That I could keep in a 110 for a while 'til I get my 210 or 265. Is the 110 just way too small even for a while? Last part is if it can live with a pair of large severum and a jack dempsey. Sorry to be the annoying guy asking dumb questions!

+1 the 110 would house him for a few years but i would advise against keeping it with your cichlids datnoids tend to grow slow and be relatively shy at smaller sizes this will more than likely cause him to get picked on or even killed by the bigger more aggressive fish

i'd advise against keeping them with the jack dempsey. the severums, maybe. pick out cichlids that are know to NOT be real aggressive. i have my 4 datnoids in a 125g with 2 oscars and 2 electric blue jack dempseys. the electric blue ones are not nearly as aggressive as regular jd. they seem to do fine and the only fighting is between one of the oscars and one of the ebjd. other than that between the dats themselves. what is going to be a problem is how fast the oscars are growing in comparison to the dats.

Wait till the EBJD get to 8 Inc and they will likely show some aggression. Mine did ..

Thats if you can get a ebjd over 4" to live... Mine all mysteriously died after 4". BUT, i may be able to get a pair of ebjd and try to grow them out, or get them at a larger size. My severums, ebjd, and a datnoid may work ;o. My severums are 9" and 8".

I'm 2 for 3 when it comes to EBJD.
