What is this species. sub- species of lapradei I here it is and exspensive poly.

whether it is a new species, subspecies, or a locale variant is not clear, since it's not formally described. But base on the look, it's most likely a subspecies of the P. bichir complex (i.e. closely related to P. bichir bichir and P. bichir lapradei), or a locale variant of P. bichir lapradei.

Koliba is a river in Guinea where the fish is collected. there's also a so-called Guinea variant of lapradei that are sold as 'guinea lapradei' that look very different (pattern-wise) from the regular Nigerian lapradei. if you ask me which known bichirs the koliba fish look the closest, i'd say the 'guinea lap', but it definitely has unique characteristics that set it apart. fyi 'koliba' is not its official species name, just in case you are wondering, so it should really be P. sp. 'Koliba' or P. bichir ssp. 'Koliba'.

well i personally saw a sp. koliba a few days ago, and the one pictured in this thread didnt look like it, the shape of the koliba's head that i saw was very rectangular not flat, something in the back of my head describes the head and face as "wolf-like", also, the sp. koliba i saw had really contrasting patterns and it was very very green, ill be picking one up somtime this week and will definately take pictures for you guys, by the way i am getting the specimen from rehoboth aquatics so its damn sure gotta be authentic
