Never owned a datnoid?

Hi everyone well let me start off by saying I've never had any experience with dats before so I don't know their max size wat they eat,tank mates, etc...I was looking into buying this orange cool datnoid it was going for $200.00 at 3/4 inches,thing is the lfs said he would get to big for my tank and said they were rare,wich made me want it even more lol but finally decided it wouldn't make sense if I can't house it yet...my second thought was a dwarf dat,but does it exist ?I have a 65gallon tank with a lenticulata pike cichlid?

Indo dat do not cost that much. Only Siamese dat would demand a price like that. I suggest u read the sticky here

Wow, $200 for a 3/4" datnoid. Take some good pics & post them up. Would love to see.
 
Are you saying 3"-4" or 3/4"? Regardless it's not worth it unless it's NGT and even then that's a bit steep, a 3"-4" IT would run you between $30-$50 depending where you live, $50 being a pretty nice looking one at that like everyone else said post a photo if you can.
 
Also 65g wouldn't house any datnoid for life it would only be a grow out. You'd want at least a 120g for the extra depth but a larger tank like a 180g would be preferred.
