OMG
These guys are such tadpole clowns!
They come out anytime for food. They also don't appear to enjoy each other's company as much as my p. armulatus do. Plenty of territories in the leaf litter, though. Got 'em in a 10g at 78ºF and they ate all the resident blackworm and most of the snails, too, in their first 48 hours. They readily eat EVERY pellet I've tried. Pardon the ugly blue gravel. It was free and I wanted more surface area in the tank for bio.
BTW: $5 each at Liam's in Chinatown. He's cleaned up the shop a bit and his stock looked healthy last time I was in. Well, healthier at least. He's a good salesman, though. Didn't pretend to know anything he didn't and even let me pick the ones I wanted out of a bowl. Easy to pick up by the dorsal spine and they don't complain much. They did fine on the bus ride home and have yet to show any sign of stress. I get the feeling a nuclear blast might tickle them.
