Never seen this on my betta

It's the white looking thing. I've had him for 2 years now so he's about 2 years 9 months

Is it a bump, or just a area of the fin that is gray?

Looks more like a bump to me. Still their but he's still alive. He's approx 2 years and 8 months

First off, good job on sustaining the life of your betta for this long, since most don't make it anywhere close to this due to poor husbandry by their owners.

At nearly 3 years, your betta is an old man. I think just like humans, your betta is just developing skin blotches and such, and its just part of the aging process.

That's what I was hoping. I'm shooting for the 3 year mark. 4 months to go...

I'm assuming that the 2yrs 9mos is how long ago you bought him, and not his actual "birthday" right?

Its already over 3 years old you have done an awesome job to keep it alive that long.
Most Betta selling in LFS are 6 months old of age.

Yeah Ive had him since 2 octobers ago. Im accounting for the 6-8 months before I had him.
