so i have a 15"+ endli and it is with 2x 9" sens, a 11"+ ornate, some arowanas, some gar, dat, sunfish, smallmouth bass, a sal, a tsn and a rtcxtsn. i decided to place my 9" siberian sturgeon into the tank aswell since the sens and ornate have been just fine with it for over a year now. i felt unsure of the endli so i watch the tank for 3 hours with the light on for about half of the time. the endli nipped once at the sturgeon, but it was just a passing nip like it does to almost everything else in the tank. so now it has been about 6 hours since the addition of the sturgeon and i look in to find the endli with the back half of the sturgeon down its throat!
so i threw my taquito that i was eatting(still don't know were it went to) and started pulling all the rocks that hold the top on and threw them on the floor...grabbed the net and scooped them up. the endli spat the sturgeon out instantly and i put the sturgeon into a diff tank again. it looks like it was in the endlis mouth for a while so idk yet if it will pull through, but i hope so.
this incedent made me start to worry about my smaller bichirs so i am selling them. i will be keeping my endli cause it is way to badass to sell. it isn't the endli's fault i mixed it with smaller fish so my dumbness causes someone to get some nice bichirs.
lesson learned NEVER EVER trust an endli with a smaller prized fish!
