It may seem obvious, but I always seem to learn things the hard way.

You should never walk away from a hose that is running water into a tank!
:WHOA:

Fortunately I returned before much of a puddle had formed, but it was still a mess on the carpet!

Something like this I prob would not admit too

How could you forget.....Just tell her to wait next time! :naughty:

I did that once, but I was taking water out not putting it in. I walked into the room and their were only a couple of inces left in the tank. Needles to say, it stressed out the fish a little bit, but everyone was fine.

I have done it more then I would like to admit. When I had my 300 gal. pond set up I pretty much flooded my basement a couple of times.
I think that when you watch it the water goes slow, then as soon as you turn around and do something else its speeds up.

done it too the worse one for me was the draining end while doing a large water change the dish cloth had slipped into the sink and did a very nice job of plugging the drain and because of a spray bar splashing i didnt hear the water spilling onto the floor probably wound up with 30 gals on the kitchen floor this just happend last sunday now i have a nice mildew smell coming from under my counters :(

I went into the other room to check my email. It was only going to take a minute or two!!

A few minutes later :

:OMG: I LEFT THE WATER RUNNING!!!!

Fortunatly I had the water running slowly.

I need to install water alarms around the floors of my aquariums. :uhoh:

Hahahah this happened to me too! I was doing some water changes and I left the hose running in my tank and then the sound of splashing really made me have to use the restroom. While im urinating, I hear the hose drop and I couldnt do anything about it until I was finished. What a mess that made.

This happened to me too. Emptying with two hoses at once can cause problems        :headshake
