i recently bought 5 ornate snakehead babies and after a week i decided the largest was big enough (4") to go into the big community tank, unfortunately i had also recently bought a couple of flowerhorn babies (3.5") and as soon as the snakehead went in the flowerhorn shot across the tank and tore the cr@p out of him!
by the time i was able to rescue him the damage had been done and he died shortly after.
i am now selling my flowerhorns as my beloved snakeheads are more important to me.

ha! thats what you get for being able to have snakeheads..... jk
now that my envy has settled a little...
at least he only got one, but i would hold him in another tank till they are big enought to eat him :)

lol!
i do love my little snackers so thats why the flowerhorn is now in a quarantine tank awaiting a new home!
got a new channa stewartii coming on tuesday as well as another fire eel, 2x red shoulder severums and a triangle cichlid so i will be having some fun! :evil_lol:

Flowerhorns are NOT COMMUNITY FISH. Just saying...

lol i was going to say, and where did u get the idea FHs were community?

my male FH went in to my communtiy tank at 2", everything else was over a foot long. the next morning everything was dead....including a 2ft plec!
at least he had a tank to himself i suppose.

flowerhorn are cool looking fish but not good with other fish. mine will even bite me when i put my hand in the tank. it will also jump up to try and bite me when i feed it. its a great fish though

FH's are highly aggressive and really shouldn't be with tank mates. The only ones that may work for some reason is blood parrots.
