Hey so yesterday i got a 48" 10,000 k, 32 Watt, T8 coral life flourescent bulb. I tried to put it into each of my 48" fixtures and when i put it in it would stay on and instead just flickered the whole time. One of these light fixtures is homemade out of a shop light fixture so i wasn't really expecting that one to work, but the other is a regualar 48" aquarium light fixture that is rated for 40 watts. It had a T12 in it when i got it, but it fits T8. I thought that if the wattage was correct then the light would work? whats going on here? is this bulb just too strong?

I thought that if they where ment for t5 they where t5 only and so on and so on. That could be your problem, but im not too sure on that.
