hey guys just finished cycling my 100 gal 5x20x20 tank, wanted to share with you all.

the tank has a black background and black sand a few flat rocks stacked to create caves and a piece of bogwood ontop of one of the flat racks. the base rocks are stacked on half curb stones so there is a big cave under the whole thing.

the stock list is as follows;

1x 7" disc motoro( untill outgrown ) rescued
1x 4" bala shark
1x 3" red tail ruby shark
1x 3" gold gourami
2x 4" festivums
2x 4" Pristolepis fasciatas(banded leaf fish/malayan)
1x 3" chocolate cichlid.
1x 1.5" bulldog pleco
1x 3" white tip pleco

was thinking i might add a small group of catfish that stay around the 4" inch mark max to keep the sand turned over. can anyone suggest a good candidate for this job? would also like to add a trio of red head geo's.

cheers in advance and i will try to get some pics added in a few days time when my camera has been fixed.

Idk, the bala is gonna get close to a foot long, may eat some of those others... Also they like small schools (yeah, I know weird. But ive researched them cause thought they were cool when comparing them to the rainbow and red tail, which I ended up getting the red tail but is pretty much the same as you ruby/rainbow) speaking oh which, the rainbow may fight your bala, not hundred percent sure but pretty sure lol.

when the bala gets too big he can be moved to a bigger tank at my parents house thats not a problem

the bala and the ruby sharks bicker but dont fight its all very chilled out i just want some catfish i was looking at maybe a small group of pictus cats. just to keep the sand turning over and clear up any waste food.

Not really too sure if these species sift the sand, but here are some cats:

-Synodontis (water conditions may be an issue, prefer high pH)
-Hoplos Catfish
-Pimelodella (actually really like the pictus)
-Porthole Catfish

Personally, I really like Hoplos cats, but your choice and I hope the info is helpful.

Happy holidays!

i thought the pictus cat was part of the pimelodella species, i also thought the hoplo and porthole get rather large. and regarding the syno's im trying to stear clear of them cause i really dont like their sharp fins. sorry if that all sounds very negative of your suggestions.
