Any suggestions for what you think would be the best filter(s)? Was trying to have it pretty close to a wall in the back, so anything like emperors are not preferred. Tanks holding a few cichlid. Thanks

If you want it close to the wall, an appropriate sized canister filter or a sump setup would be best. I have a pair of Emperor 400s on my 90 and its about 6 inches from the wall.

I run a Rena XP3 and a Marineland Magnum 350 on my 100 gallon. XP3 for bio/chem filtration (I love the trays on this thing) and Magnum for mechanical filtration.

You could prob run the XP3 ($135-170) and a Aquaclear 110 ($70-90) and be perfectly set on that 100 gallon, with next to nothing filter maintenance (those 2 filters are really good/ease of use). Pretty sure the Aquaclear will not use up 6" and the XP3 sits underneith.

i run 3-AC110 from the back on my tank it's 4.5" total is 6.5" i like some room to be able to get back and do maintenance..... i have power strips on the back of my stand and i shut off one of them when i'm doin a W/C......i like the FX5 personally i've owned magnum 350s b4 and i had to take it apart a couple times cuz it started rattleing

That would be a great setup for this tank IMO.

I will also add that the Magnum 350 I am running is 15+ years old (my dad gave it to me, he used it when I was in high school back in 1992). These things were manufactured by God himself....lol

Being that old it is still "hands on" when I start and stop it, but man this thing is one great mech filter....legendary in my book! I can fill the tank with cat hair and it will suck it out in a few hours. hehehehe
:D
