i just got around to putting my fish in my newly cycled 110 gallon tank that i got for $50 but it needed a reseal and new top trim. i used 2x4's as you can see. the plants are amazon sword and pothos vines. the tank measures 48x18x30.5 inches tall. the gravel is 100lbs of landscape gravel from lowes bought for $7 total. i cleaned the hell out of it. the rocks are leftover from a friends community tank consisting of geodes, river rock, and quarts crystals from alabama. the front piece of driftwood has yet to sink so theres a rock on top of it.

stocklist:
6 red belly piranhas from pedro
5 zebra danios
soon to be 10 or 15 neon or cardinal tetras.

looks like a beaut. Not bad for under $100. Congrats.

I was definately psyched when I found it. I saw it on craigslist for 150 but it leaked it's ass off and I offered $50 for it and he took it. $12 of silicone 2 $2 2x4s and 1 day later it was as good as new! It had cycle for 3 weeks with the 5 danios and 10 of my boys tetras. I also used alot of media from my other tank along with a pre-cycled biowheel filter

Nice tank....dont waste your money on the tetras they will be gone and same with your zebra danios. You probaly wont be able to get away with much with the RBP

The danios have been with them since the day I got the piranhas. The first week or so I would notice them nipped up but not anymore. They were in a 30g before along with 2 convicts which just hatched a bunch of eggs. That's why I wanted these out so quick. I thought I bought 2 male convicts but obviously not. Now they have the 30 all to themselves and their fry. The convicts bullied around my rbps for about 2 weeks now. The eggs just hatched 2 days ago.

the danios and tetras may last a couple weeks but they will end up getting munched. Nice looking tank at a great price. how do you feel about how tall it is?

i hate the height. i would trade it for a long 100g anyday. $50 or $220 for a long 100 gal. i took the extra $170 and spent it on a filter. cleaning the gravel is not that bad b decorations but in order to mess with the gravel or any decorations i need to lose the shirt or the whole sleeve is in the water. it comes all the way up to my pits/chest. the tank is on a 32" stand as well. no pictures of that yet because its just an ugly frame for the time being.

also danios here are 5 for $2 and tetras are 2 for $1. so for the added color/attractiveness its worth it.

I woke up today with 4 danios now. It's weird that in there previous tank 30g they all lived happy together and the danios didn't get messed with. That tank had little cover or hiding spots in it. This tank has way more plants and rock caves for them to hide and one got eaten. Pretty strange if you ask me. They were the same fish. I'm not too bothered by it but I feel bad for that fish. I doubt I'll be trying any new tank mates for awhile. If I would should I introduce some quarantined feeders at the same time?
