Hey Guys, first thread :)
so i recently set up my new 120, and transferred over my Oscar, EBJD, and Cuban.

I've been thinking about adding another cuban to the tank, and maybe getting a pair, but if they breed i dont want them killing the jack or oscar. There still young, the cuban and jack are 3", Just need some second opinions:screwy:

ebjd may not handle a breeding pair and your oscar will fight for power if its like a normal oscar

Yeah thats what i'm afraid of, then again he holds his own and bullies the cuban around.
If i did i'd probably separate the fry, or maybe siphone the eggs out and put it into a separate tank. I've had these fish for a while, but lately i've been wanting to try out breeding, but not at the expense of my current fish.

That EBJD is easily double the size of the cuban. Give it a few months then you'll see who's bullying who. As for Oscars, in my own experience, they are very clumsy. They will however hold their own against other New World Cichlids but most likely wont be the ones looking for a fight

I wouldn't chance it. I wouldn't say an addition is out of the question, just not a breeding pair of cubans with those other two.

eh its the picture, they're about the same length, i dry measured them as i transfered them into the new tank.

Thanks guys, i guess i won't. Just thought i'd throw the question out there. Maybe i'll just start up my 55 again, idk.

I wouldn't add anything for now, The EBJD is going to be your slowest grower. Before you know it the other fish are going to dwarf it and that's going to be a problem. I'd add some decor and hiding places for it when this starts to happen so it has a place to hide, make sure they're big enough that only the EBJD can fit.
