So i'm moving up from a 55 gal to a 125 :). and in the process im moving some fish over including my 7 in mono pbass, my ornate bichir and my grey bichir. As well as a common pleco. So now that I have all of this empty space I need some ideas for some more fish. I'm already planning on getting another pbass of a different type. Any ideas which one would be helpful. Plus I want to get a few fish that dont get quite as massive as a full grown pbass but still get big. Maybe something semi-aggresive or agressive but not enough to mess with my pbass. Any ideas?

Hey Fishman1318,
I am also in the process of upgrading:headbang2 from a 55 to a 150 that I bought off of a fellow MFKer. I built my own stand and I had to put on a new top frame. The fish that I will be moving are 1-Pbass,2-oscars and 1 pleco. I want to get another Pbass as well. I was also thinking about getting a ray. I have 2-bala sharks,2-zebra barbs and 1-bullnose pleco that I will be moving to the 55.
What kind of filtration are you going to use on your new tank?

Its a sump that i got from the guy off of CL. Im gonna clean everything out before i set it up. The sump is rated for much more than a 125 so it'll plenty strong.

I'm also moving some fish into the 55 from a 20 gal long. So it sounds like were in similar circumstances.

I was going to do a DIY wet/dry but for the life of me couldnt find a container that would fit under my stand so I just bought a new one. I also will be running an emporer 400, the fish that I have put out a big bio load. I just put on the new frame tonight so Im not expecting to have it ready for fish till middle of next week.
What kind of cycle will you be doing?

I'm gonna use part of the water from the 55 and cycle it for a few days. Plus some aquarium salt in the water and some other additives. Nothing special. I'll probably need a couple of heaters though.

I am going to use a combination of Tetra's Safestart, swishing used filters and some water out of the 55. I know my fish are going to be a lot happier in a bigger tank. The Pbass has been getting very territorial lately.

A little over 6". He is blind in his right eye and I think that has something to do with it. He wants the right side of the tank all to himself.

first off,is grey bichir a senegal?
if so,the pbass will eventually outgrow and eat it.
second, eventually you'll have to upgrade again.
but you should know that already.
what pbass do you fancy?
theres lots to choose from.

He actually doesnt even go near the senegal and hes plenty big to eat him now if he wanted. Pretty much hooked on his krill. Yea I know i'll have to upgrade again but for now a 125 high will be suitable enough for his size. Idk what other pbass i want. He's a mono i beleive. 4 lines. I would like something completly different though. Very easy to say who is who. I'm more worried about what else I want to stick in there with him though.
