New 125 Gallon Tank - What Would You Stock With?

You can go with a lot of fish. IMO don't waste it on a. cichlids. You could do discus, puffers, a nice reef display, a massive planted tetra display with plecos if you like cichlids a nice ca/sa cichlid display.

Unless you do a. Peacocks you will be board with standard a. Cichlids.

I wouldn't say that african cichlids are a waste, but I guess we all have our own preferences. I personally love the color and activity in an african cichlid tank. Also, if done right you can have quite a bit of variety, especially when you add in haps with the mbuna. Peacocks are also great, but I would still add in some haps for behavior and shape differences.
 
I've done a community tank with my 125, had SA/CA cichlids too. I prefer the community personally. Much more activity and a lower bioload.

Loved my pbass and EBJD's, but I like my denison barb's more. I think an african cichlid tank would be very well suited for my tastes versus CA/SA.
 
I my 120 gallon 4x2x2 i have 1 oscar, some blood parrots, a jack dempsey, a green terror and a striped pecock eal... It is a cool tank and I cant wait till my litttle oscar gets bigger... just some ideas...

Just something about all them fish and so little bio load. They look sweet in there. I have about 100 in my 125gal fully planted, rock and wood scaped. Toss in some cool looking plecos and bam.
