Hey guys. I am wondering whats the best way to attack this in terms of using less electricity? Would I be better off going with one more powerful heater or two less powerful heaters? (I have one rated for 90g) Thanks for your help

Get efficient lights like LEDs and efficient filtration to save money

And insulate your tank to save on heating

The thing is I never turn my lights on. When you say insulate, do you mean with towels around the tank?

200w from 2 different heaters or 1 400w heater is the same. They will also heat about the same. I do think that 2 200w heaters may heat the water a little faster but I have no proof. Since you can space them apart.

IMO, I'd have 2 equally separate heaters for the 125g.
