I just aquired a 125 (well I am assuming cuz its 6ft long) and I have no clue as to what to stock it with.

Currently I have a 60 with Africans(Mbuna), that I thought I would put in the 125 but I think I want something that isn't going to hide in the rocks everytime I approach the tank. There are 17 fish in the 60 but when they get spooked it looks like a ghost town, which is unfortunate because they are nice looking fish.

I am seriuosly open to anything! I haven't even narrowed it down to salt or fresh so all suggestions are welcome and I will research based on the feedback that I get.

I have never owned any monster fish though my friend back east has had numerous snakehead and arrowana over the last 10 years or so. I like the arrowana's a lot, though then I can only have it in there and nothing else - right?

I hope I get many opinions and maybe even some pics...though I have a few more posts before I can view them.

Thanks all!!!!

There's all kinds of possibilities. I'd look at the various SA/CA cichlids and see what you like.
Maybe a jag, festae, midas?
A 125 is too small for arows long-term, but you could keep one for awhile.

Thanks for your speedy response

Jags seem cool though they can get 16 inches, so does that mean a arows gets bigger? Seems as if I can keep a few other fish such as convicts in with them – Is this true?

I know I am ultra noob at monster fish but it seems that 1 fish in a large tank (for me) is a waste. Although some of these fish seem like they would be an eyeful once I had them in my tank.

Also the festae (red terror) looks intriguing are they similar to green terror? I am at work and will research these more on my own time tonight. Any more suggestions? I am in no hurry to fill this tank and I want to do this right.

Also I have a Bumble Bee cichlid that is getting rather large and apparently is going to reach 9 inches. Can any of these fish be housed with the Crabo if there are no breeding pairs?

I know in a year I will look back at this post and cringe at my stupidity!!!
