middle of nowhere
OK here it is i got a 140 gallon tank running that got cycled for two weeks and one with a couple fish and just today i got some more fish... for filtration i have a fluval fx5.

6" bala shark
5.5" red tail shark
2-pacu's 3"
2- silver arowana's 6"
distochodus sexfacioutus 3"
2- oscars 3.5"
medium size pleco

problems...
oscar is being a real pain in the azz with the arowana's not sure why but he likes attacking them from the bottom, not sure why he is so attracted to them or it is just territorial as he was my tester fish...

?? #2 most of my fish hang out on the right hand side bottom and my outlet is on the right pointing left so i assumed there is less current to the right but they all get cramped in that corner... is there any solutions to this problem

any input to any of this info please let me know

2 things...
i thought arowana's were more aggro than oscars?
also where is ur fluval water outlet coming from is it coming form the right...that's really weird because ur fluval fx5 should be great for this tank not to 2 high or low...i would deff check the water quality...do u have any tester kits?

now the problem here is that the aros are really small to defend themselves from the oscars. you should keep them in their own tank till they grow to about 8". and usually keeping 2 aros together will end up with one aro killing the other. but there are exception.i successfully housed 2 aros together.
i would say get rid of the pacus and be ready to upgrade in the near future as the 2 aros wont live in tht 140 for life and surely the pacus need a pond.

and i think your fish are all crammed out to one side of the tank because they are new in that tank, give them some time to settle in

and yes i think 2 weeks is not enough to cycle a tank unless your are using an established filter and some old water from other tank. i think your tank is not cycled properly as yet

it's gonna be pretty crowded when they all grow or going towards maturity.

alright guys... thanks for the input

the arowana's were raised together and i bought them from my freind as he had a few that he had since they had there yolk sac still. so i thought i would try it out.

as for the water goes i know it is fine because my oscar lived about a week and a half eating regularly and not showing any signs of illness.but i will buy a test kit on monday

and for a bigger tank... my dad my brother and I came up with a brilliant idea of making a pond for tropical fish but i will post this in the pond section to get more feedback....

thanks everyone

Young Aro's are weaklings. I had the same problem with an aro oscar combo till the aro got bigger then he was the one doing the bullying. As someone stated earilier a 140 isnt going to cut it lifetime for a aro and the pacu get way to big for a 140 as well, they can also cause some havoc whne they get bigger.

well last night the oscar was pissing me off and i was gona toss him into the wall... lol jk , but i ended up taking him out and putting him into a container for about 20min then rearraging the tank and know he seems to have calmed down a bit ... hasnt chased them once
